Visa de court séjour (type C)

The short-stay visa (type C) allows you to stay in France for a maximum of 90 days per period of 180 days. It is valid in all 26 Member States of the Schengen Area.

Your request must be made to the French embassy or consulate in your country of residence. The application processing times can vary greatly depending on the country and time of year. For these reasons, we advise you to begin the procedures 3 months before the desired date of arrival in France.

Who is eligible for the Visa de court séjour (type C)?

This type of visa is granted for:
- Sightseeing tours
- Family or private visits
- Business trips
- A short training course or an internship

What are the required documents?

- Valid passport. Duration of validity at least 3 months longer than the planned date of departure
- Complete short-stay visa application form (Cerfa n° 14076*02)
- 3 identity photos in accordance with requirements
- Proof of sufficient resources
- Proof of guarantee of repatriation to your usual place of residence
- Proof of insurance covering health expenses
- Supporting documents relating to the stay. Hotel reservation with the name of the applicant, rental contract, proof of accommodation, internship agreement, letter of invitation from the host, etc.

Important!

This visa does not allow you to settle in France for the long term or to bring your family.

This visa operates on the principle of “single entry”: any exit from the territory of the Schengen Area prevents a new entry.

You will only be able to submit a new application for a short-stay visa after a period of 180 days from the date of your first entry.
